Scott came to us with a background in landscaping. He is driven, hard working, reliable and humble. He quickly became a core member of our team, working on both Woodworks renovations and Barrisol stretch ceilings. When he is not working you may find him visiting family in Pemberton, on the golf course, or exploring the West Coast.
Scott is smart, personable, and a natural athlete, even mastering "underhand axe throwing" during our last holiday outing. Scott not only feels like family, he is family with Sawyer, which is how he affectionately became known as "Cousin Scott".

I love the wood slats with the white finishing, creating a modern space that still feels warm and bright. It works so well with the natural light.

This Tenant improvement was nominated for the 40th Annual Royal City Builders Awards in the Commercial Renovation category and the Vancouver Circus School was featured on the Rick Mercer Report shortly after the TI was completed. You can watch the episode via the link below.

We were pleased to work with Travis Johnson and @vancircusschool again, in 2014, for their North Van location. They do fantastic work in the community.

He has a big smile and heart, can rock a Hawaiian shirt, is an excellent athlete (hockey & golf to name a couple) and enjoys cooking. He recently gifted us homemade dill pickles from a family recipe! Fantastic.

Ben's generous and kind-hearted spirit adds a brightness to our team. He is always ready to lend a hand and a smile.

If you plan to watch a FIFA match at Canada Soccer House in North Vancouver, be sure to stop by the Lonsdale Quay Market. You will see the tenant improvement work we completed in 2019 for Bowen Island Pizza. This was originally two separate food kiosks. We used custom millwork to join the two sides into one distinctive double-sized food vendor. The pizza is now Hellcrust Pizza. Stop by and enjoy a slice.

These "Kitsilano Beach - House Lift" photos date back to June 2006, which is 20 years ago this month! It was an interesting project because the ground contained so much sand and seashells that it required extra shoring. We had to vibrate large I-beams into the sand to create posts with 3x12's in between them to retain the two neighboring properties.

This month we finished a cedar fence for the same friends/homeowners. It is wonderful to have these longstanding relationships.

Many of you know that Mike plays piano, is an avid boater and the owner of Woodworks Custom Developments Ltd. and Barrisol BC.

Did you know that he also plays ice hockey, wearing jersey #11, in a few different North Vancouver ASHL teams?

Sawyer brings excellent work ethic to our crew and also strong family values. Coming from a tight-knit family Sawyer plays ice hockey with his father, regularly visits his sisters and mom and has spend time with his grandmother in Montreal, who is now 104 years young!
We also appreciate that Sawyer introduced us to his cousin Scott, who subsequently joined our crew and has since became an integral part of the team.
Recently back from a romantic trip to Mexico with his gal, Sawyer's next itinerary will bring him to Estonia.
We value Sawyer's strong character and determination. He never hesitates to dig in and get the job done.

Sawyer is also an excellent sport when it comes to our work adventures! In the video below he is trying "horseback archery" for the first time, with Scott providing the arrows. Bullseye!

We recently finished a comprehensive renovation of a charming four-story heritage home in Vancouver. The renovation's uniqueness lies in its design, which produced two separate suites within a single structure. This allows two generations of family to support one another while retaining their own private spaces. This represents a considerate and innovative approach for families to assist each other in Vancouver's competitive housing market. Studies show significant happiness stems from daily interactions between grandparents and grandchildren. I can imagine these two wise mothers sharing a cup of tea and a meal together, in this warm and welcoming space.

Interestingly the design firm for this project, DNVS Design, is a mother-daughter team specializing in architectural and residential design. A perfect choice for this character home.
