He has a big smile and heart, can rock a Hawaiian shirt, is an excellent athlete (hockey & golf to name a couple) and enjoys cooking. He recently gifted us homemade dill pickles from a family recipe! Fantastic.

If you plan to watch a FIFA match at Canada Soccer House in North Vancouver, be sure to stop by the Lonsdale Quay Market. You will see the tenant improvement work we completed in 2019 for Bowen Island Pizza. This was originally two separate food kiosks. We used custom millwork to join the two sides into one distinctive double-sized food vendor. The pizza is now Hellcrust Pizza. Stop by and enjoy a slice.

​These "Kitsilano Beach - House Lift" photos date back to June 2006, which is 20 years ago this month! It was an interesting project because the ground contained so much sand and seashells that it required extra shoring.  We had to vibrate large I-beams into the sand to create posts with 3x12's in between them to retain the two neighboring properties.

This month we finished a cedar fence for the same friends/homeowners. It is wonderful to have these longstanding relationships.

As the graduation season for secondary schools approaches, we have been thinking of  the various school projects that we have completed.

Woodworks Custom Developments has successfully completed full tenant improvements for Little Mountain Learning Academy and the Vancouver Circus School, in addition to carpentry services for the West Vancouver School District.

We recently finished a comprehensive renovation of a charming four-story heritage home in Vancouver. The renovation's uniqueness lies in its design, which produced two separate suites within a single structure. This allows two generations of family to support one another while retaining their own private spaces. This represents a considerate and innovative approach for families to assist each other in Vancouver's competitive housing market. Studies show significant happiness stems from daily interactions between grandparents and grandchildren.  I can imagine these two wise mothers sharing a cup of tea and a meal together, in this warm and welcoming space.

Interestingly the design firm for this project, DNVS Design, is a mother-daughter team specializing in architectural and residential design. A perfect choice for this character home.

See the Transformation! This renovation of an Arthur Erickson West Vancouver Beach House began with concrete framing to accommodate a second-story addition and encompassed interior finishing along with landscaping, featuring a green roof.
